My child is waiting for his second dose of the vaccine. Can he still participate in the start of the season camps? What is the deadline for obtaining the vaccine passport?

No. The vaccine passport is in effect from September 1, 2021, without exception, for all players aged 13 and over. Here is the statement received from the ministry, dated September 4, on this subject:

Since September 1, 2021, organizers and operators whose activities are covered by the vaccine passport have the obligation to check the level of vaccination protection and, therefore, cannot allow access to places or activities covered by the passport. to clients, users or participants who have no proof of vaccination and who are not adequately protected. The adaptation period aims to allow technical adjustments. No sanction can be applied before September 15, but the vaccine passport must be verified.

He / she will be able to take part in the activities when he / she is adequately vaccinated.

My child will be 13 years old on January 15, 2022, so during his hockey season. Will he then have to present proof of vaccination?

Yes. As the vaccine passport is required for all those who are 13 years of age and over as of September 1, 2021, he or she must therefore present proof of vaccination from his thirteenth (13th) birthday; on January 15, 2022 in this example.

My child (aged 13 and over) has a medical condition and cannot benefit from the COVID-19 vaccine. Will he still be able to play hockey?

People with contraindications to vaccination against COVID-19 must go to a vaccination clinic with the appropriate documentation to have everything entered in the vaccination register.

Can a negative test replace proof of vaccination?

No. A negative test cannot replace proof of vaccination.

Do officials, coaches, volunteers and other stakeholders of the minor hockey association have to show proof of vaccination?

No. Being considered as workers within the meaning of the CNESST law, coaches, officials, off-ice officials, employees and volunteers thus apply the CNESST rules; they are therefore not subject to the vaccine passport.

Will the vaccine passport be requested from the parents of the players and other accompanying persons?

The vaccine passport is compulsory for spectators of amateur events who exceed the numbers allowed inside (25 spectators standing or 250 spectators seated).

The vaccine passport is not required for an authorized companion when necessary (eg the parent of a child under 10 years old or the companion of a person with a disability). This must then be counted against the maximum number of people allowed.
